Each month, we'll tell you a little bit about the people who create the designs you see on Dream Street Papers. Like their papers, each designer is unique and interesting. We look forward to getting to know them a little better, too.

Designer Spotlight: Alexis Hardy
Our first designer spotlight focuses on Alexis Hardy. Alexis designed Dream Street Paper's Act Naturally collection. We asked her a few questions about inspiration and artistry and this is what she said:

What inspired your designs?
I'm often inspired by home furnishings when I create new designs. The Act Naturally line was based on my love for the Mod culture of the sixties mixed with funky flowers and colors.

What are your favorite tools for paper design?
I use my Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements to create my paper designs.

For what projects have you used your paper? Any plans for future projects?
I have so many photographs that I've saved for the day that I could scrap with my very own paper! I've been scrapping those photos as well as creating fun altered items and mini albums for family members. I feel like this is the first time I can create a gift for someone where I actually created everything from the paper to the photography!

What would you like people to know about you as an artist? As a person?
Seeing art in everyday moments is the way I live my life.  From my daughter’s smile to the silhouette of a bare tree against a winter sky, art surrounds us all the time.  I photograph nearly everything that inspires me to smile, cry, or feel that rhythm deep within my soul.  But photographs can only say so much.  I became a scrapbooker so that I could express the effect each of those captured moments had on me.  Through paper and ink, thread and metal, I create layouts that bring the emotion and excitement of my photographs to life.  My “artsy-graphic-funky-fun” style makes my loved ones smile and it makes me feel like I have truly filled my place in the world.

...or rather I should say - "What Store's It In?"  We get that question quite a bit. Being new, Dream Street Papers is steadily making it's way into stores. Some stores are local and many are online. We've organized a Store Locator to help you find Dream Street Papers. AND if your favorite LSS isn't carrying our papers yet, have them email Tara at info@dreamstreetpapers.com

And if you'd also like to know what's in store for Dream Street Papers, check out our Announcements board.
